Local and exclusive artistry

At Birch, we pride ourselves on featuring the handcrafted work of local artists and makers. This season we are giving a special spotlight to Alphonse Belavitch, the creator of Dad’s Bags and Deb Genestretti, a local teacher with a passion for pottery.

Come to Birch and purchase an original piece made locally in New Hampshire.

Alphonse Belavitch

The father of our fearless leader, Kate Belavitch, and the creator of Portsmouth’s infamous Dad’s Bags. These leather bags have been years in the making. Even when Kate was a little girl her father would unroll a sheet of leather right onto the kitchen table and start working away at it. Today Dad’s Bags are a staple at Birch. With many colors and sizing to chose from, you won’t be disappointed.

Deb Genestretti

Looking for a piece of Portsmouth? Look no further. Each vase is handmade with love by Deb herself right here in Southern New Hampshire. The colors and patterns that Deb uses are directly inspired by the seas and natural landscapes of her home. We love our collection of these beautiful vases. Come by Birch and pick your favorite, just be sure not to miss any.
